What We Expect

Be Honest and Accurate

Your profile, property listings, and communications should be truthful. Photos should accurately represent your home. Don't exaggerate or mislead.

Honor Your Commitments

When you accept a booking, follow through. Cancellations affect other members' travel plans and damage trust in the community.

Communicate Promptly

Respond to booking requests and messages in a timely manner. If plans change, inform the other party immediately.

Respect the Property

Treat your host's home with care. Follow house rules, clean up after yourself, and report any issues or damages honestly.

Leave Honest Reviews

Share your genuine experience to help others make informed decisions. Be fair, constructive, and specific in your feedback.

Be a Good Neighbor

Respect quiet hours, parking rules, and the neighborhood. Remember that you represent both yourself and the Swappahome community.

What's Not Allowed

The following behaviors will not be tolerated and may result in account suspension or removal:

  • Discrimination

    Refusing bookings or treating members differently based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

  • Harassment

    Any form of harassment, threats, bullying, or intimidation toward other members.

  • Fraud and Misrepresentation

    Fake profiles, false listings, misleading photos, or any form of deception.

  • Property Damage

    Intentionally damaging property or failing to report accidental damage.

  • Illegal Activities

    Using properties for illegal purposes, including subletting without permission.

  • Spam and Solicitation

    Using the platform to advertise unrelated services or send unsolicited messages.

Standards for Hosts

  • Keep your listing accurate and up-to-date
  • Provide a clean, safe, and well-maintained home
  • Respond to booking requests within 48 hours
  • Be available for questions during your guest's stay
  • Provide clear check-in instructions and house rules
  • Disclose any limitations or issues with your property

Standards for Guests

  • Complete your profile and verify your identity
  • Read listings carefully before booking
  • Communicate your arrival time and any special needs
  • Follow all house rules provided by your host
  • Leave the home clean and tidy
  • Report any issues or damages immediately

Enforcement

We take violations of our community standards seriously. Depending on the severity, consequences may include:

Warning: For minor or first-time violations
Temporary Suspension: Account access restricted for a period
Permanent Removal: Account banned for serious violations

We review all reports carefully and aim to be fair in our decisions. Members have the right to appeal enforcement actions.
