Identity Verification
Every member must verify their identity before they can publish a property, book a stay, or send messages. This creates accountability and helps ensure you're interacting with real people.
Our verification process includes:
- Government ID Check
Members submit a valid government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID card) which is verified through our trusted partner Veriff.
- Selfie Verification
A live selfie is matched against the ID photo to confirm you are who you claim to be.
- Verified Badge
Once verified, members display a badge on their profile, visible to all other members.

Property Verification
Every property on Swappahome goes through a verification process before being published.
Our property verification includes:
- Manual Review
Our team reviews every listing to ensure photos are genuine, descriptions are accurate, and the property meets our quality standards.
- Proof of Address
Hosts must provide documentation (utility bill, bank statement, or official document) proving they reside at or own the property.
- Home Insurance (Recommended)
We strongly encourage hosts to maintain home insurance that covers short-term guests. This provides additional protection for both parties.
If a host changes their property's address, the listing is automatically paused and requires re-verification before going live again.
Reviews & Ratings
Our two-way review system helps build trust and accountability in the community.
Guests Review Hosts
After each stay, guests rate cleanliness, location accuracy, communication, check-in process, and overall experience.
Hosts Review Guests
Hosts rate guests on cleanliness, respect for house rules, and how well they treated the property.
Fair Reviews: Reviews are hidden until both parties submit theirs (or 48 hours pass), preventing retaliatory reviews and ensuring honest feedback.
Community Guidelines
All members agree to uphold our community standards:
- 1.Treat Others with Respect
Be courteous in all communications. Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior is not tolerated.
- 2.Be Honest and Accurate
Property descriptions and photos must accurately represent the space. Don't misrepresent yourself or your home.
- 3.Respect the Property
Treat your host's home as you would want guests to treat yours. Follow house rules and leave the space clean.
- 4.Communicate Promptly
Respond to booking requests and messages in a timely manner. Keep the other party informed of any changes.
- 5.Honor Your Commitments
Once a booking is confirmed, both parties are expected to follow through. Cancellations affect your reliability rating.
Violations of these guidelines may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.

- Install working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Maintain adequate home insurance
- Brief a trusted neighbor about your swap arrangements

- 2.Emergency: For immediate danger, always contact local emergency services first (911 in US, 112 in EU).
Note: Swappahome is a platform that connects home swappers. While we can help mediate disputes and remove bad actors from the platform, we are not responsible for resolving issues between members or for any damages that may occur during swaps.
