Home Exchange in Argentina

0 verified homes

Argentina stretches from subtropical waterfalls to the windswept edge of Patagonia, a country where the rhythm changes with the latitude. In Buenos Aires, tango spills from corner cafés and dinner starts at ten. Head west and the Andes rise like a wall; go south and the land empties into steppe and glaciers. The wine country around Mendoza smells of malbec and dust. Coastal towns along the Atlantic keep a quieter pace, and in the north, the red earth of Salta gives way to cloud forests and empanadas eaten standing up. Everywhere, the asado grill smoke and the mate gourd are constants.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When's the best time to visit Argentina?

It depends on where you're headed. Summer (December to February) is peak season for Patagonia and the Lake District, though Buenos Aires can feel sticky and half-empty as porteños flee to the coast. Autumn (March to May) brings harvest festivals in wine country and cooler city weather. Winter (June to August) is ideal for skiing in the Andes and exploring the north, where it stays warm and dry. Spring (September to November) offers jacaranda blooms in the capital and fewer crowds almost everywhere.
