Home Exchange in Vietnam
0 verified homes
Vietnam unfolds like a long, restless coast where mountains tumble into the sea and cities hum with motorbike symphonies at dawn. From the lantern-lit alleys of ancient towns to the emerald rice terraces that climb hillsides in the north, every region carries its own rhythm. Street corners smell of fish sauce and fresh herbs, while markets overflow with dragonfruit and rambutan. Monsoons paint the landscape green, then golden. Whether you're drawn to the buzz of urban rooftops or the quiet of riverside villages, Vietnam rewards slow wanderers who linger over bowls of phแป and let conversations unfold in the shade.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network โ always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews โ reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes โ you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
What's the best time of year to experience Vietnam?
Vietnam stretches far enough that seasons shift dramatically from north to south. The north enjoys crisp, dry winters and hot summers, ideal for trekking between October and April. Central regions see their driest months from February to May, perfect for coastal exploring. The south stays warm year-round, with the dry season running November through April. Monsoons bring lush greenery but also sudden downpours, so timing depends on whether you're chasing sunshine or don't mind the occasional tropical storm rolling through.
