Home Exchange in Morocco
0 verified homes
The call to prayer drifts over terracotta rooftops at dawn, and by mid-morning the smell of mint tea and fresh khobz mingles with diesel and orange blossom. Morocco rewards the traveller who slows down—who learns the rhythm of a medina's alleys, who knows which stall makes the best msemen, who understands that dinner starts late and lasts long. Hotels place you at the edge of that life; a home with a courtyard and a tagine pot on the stove pulls you into it. The doors below open onto that older, slower cadence.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Morocco?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most forgiving weather—warm days, cool nights, and the countryside in bloom or harvest. Summer scorches the interior but suits the Atlantic coast; winter brings snow to the Atlas and mild, rainy spells to the cities. Ramadan shifts annually and changes the rhythm of meals and opening hours, but also reveals a quieter, more introspective side of daily life. Avoid August in Marrakech unless you thrive in furnace heat.
