Home Exchange in Argentina
0 verified homes
Argentina unfolds in layers: the hiss of mate being poured in a Buenos Aires café at dawn, the creak of estancia gates opening onto endless Pampas, the crunch of Patagonian ice under boot. It's a country that rewards slow mornings and long dinners, where the rhythm of life bends around asado smoke and tango milongas that don't start until midnight. Staying in a local home means waking to the smell of facturas from the corner panadería, learning which bus line locals actually take, and understanding why Sundays are sacred. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Argentina?
Argentina's seasons flip southern hemisphere style, so December through February brings summer heat — ideal for Patagonia's trails and lake towns, though Buenos Aires empties as porteños flee to the coast. March through May offers milder temperatures and wine harvest season in Mendoza. June to August means winter: ski season in Bariloche, quieter city streets, and the best time for northern deserts like Salta. Spring (September to November) brings jacaranda blooms to Buenos Aires and comfortable weather nearly everywhere.
