Home Exchange in Málaga
No verified homes listed in Málaga yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Málaga wakes to the smell of churros frying in olive oil and the slap of mop water on marble—a city that still runs on breakfast routines and afternoon shutters drawn against the heat. It's not the postcard Costa del Sol; it's the port where Picasso learned light, where fishermen still unload at dawn in El Palo, and where the best meals happen in kitchens with tiles older than the tourists. To stay here properly means learning the rhythm of the *paseo*, the 9pm dinner, the Sunday vermouth in Pedregalejo. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Málaga?
Spring and autumn frame Málaga at its best—March through May and September through November bring warm days without the coastal crush of high summer. Winters are mild enough for terrace lunches, though locals wear coats and you'll have museums mostly to yourself. August sees the city empty as malagueños flee the heat, but the *Feria de Agosto* in mid-month is worth the swelter if you want to see the whole town dressed up and dancing until dawn.
