Home Exchange in Burgas
No verified homes listed in Burgas yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Burgas stretches along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast with a rhythm that feels neither rushed nor sleepy — just pleasingly itself. The Sea Garden unfolds for kilometres, lined with cafes where locals linger over banitsa and boza long after breakfast ends. Beyond the promenade, neighbourhoods of pastel-coloured apartment blocks give way to the wetlands of Atanasovsko Lake, where flamingos wade in improbable pink clusters. Summer brings open-air theatre and the scent of grilled fish from beachside mehanas, while spring and autumn belong to birdwatchers and those who prefer the coast without the crowds.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Burgas?
Late May through early October offers warm Black Sea swimming and the city's festival season, including open-air concerts and the Sand Sculptures Festival. But spring and autumn have their own appeal — milder temperatures, quieter beaches, and spectacular birdwatching as migratory flocks pause at the surrounding lakes. Winter is genuinely quiet, with bracing coastal walks and a local pace uninterrupted by tourists. If you're after seaside warmth, aim for July or August; for a more contemplative Burgas, shoulder seasons reward with space and softer light.
