Home Exchange in Estonia
0 verified homes
Estonia unfolds like a Baltic secret—medieval spires in Tallinn's Old Town give way to silent forests where wolves still roam, and islands like Saaremaa hold windmills and juniper-scented meadows. Summers mean white nights and wild strawberries, winters cloak everything in snow and sauna smoke. You'll find Art Nouveau facades in Kadriorg, Soviet-era relics quietly crumbling, and a tech-savvy pulse beneath the cobblestones. It's a place where folklore lingers in the mist and design shops nestle inside limestone cellars.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Estonia?
Summer—June through August—brings long daylight, warm enough for island-hopping and forest hikes, plus festivals that spill into midnight. December through February is for those craving snow-draped pines, Christmas markets in Tallinn's square, and the chance to plunge into an ice hole after sauna. Spring and autumn are quieter, cheaper, and beautifully moody, though pack layers—the weather shifts fast off the Baltic.
