Home Exchange in Krakow

No verified homes listed in Krakow yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Krakow unfolds in layers: cobblestones worn smooth by centuries, the scent of obwarzanek bread from street carts, the low hum of trams crossing the Vistula. Kazimierz pulses with late-night wine bars in converted tenements, while Podgórze still holds the quiet weight of history. Mornings belong to the Rynek Główny, where pigeons scatter and flower sellers set up before the Cloth Hall opens. Beyond the Old Town, Nowa Huta's brutalist blocks tell a different story entirely. This is a city that rewards slow wandering—through courtyards, milk bars, and the kind of parks where locals linger long after dark.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which season shows Krakow at its best?

Late spring and early autumn strike the balance—warm enough for riverside walks, cool enough to explore without crowds crushing the Royal Route. Summers bring open-air concerts in courtyards and long evenings at Planty gardens, though August sees the most tourists. Winter has its own magic: snow on Wawel Hill, steaming mulled wine at Christmas markets, and that particular hush that settles over the Old Town when frost coats the spires. Just know that January and February can bite cold.
