Home Exchange in Warsaw

No verified homes listed in Warsaw yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Warsaw refuses to be defined by a single era. The capital unfolds in layers: prewar townhouses rebuilt brick by brick in the Old Town, brutalist towers from the socialist decades, glass high-rises catching light along the Vistula. You'll find pierogi served in milk bars that haven't changed their menu since the 1970s, third-wave coffee roasteries in Praga's courtyards, and jazz cellars that remember when the music was contraband. Summer means beach bars on the river's sandy banks; winter turns the city inward, to steamy cafés and the smell of mulled wine at Christmas markets.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which neighbourhoods give the best sense of Warsaw's character?

Śródmieście holds the reconstructed Old Town and the Royal Route, but venture to Praga on the east bank for pre-war tenements, artist studios, and a grittier texture. Mokotów offers tree-lined streets and a residential calm, while Powiśle, tucked between the centre and the river, has become a hub for young locals—cafés, green spaces, and a more relaxed pace. Each district tells a different chapter of the city's layered story.
