Home Exchange in Busan

No verified homes listed in Busan yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Busan sprawls along Korea's southern coast where mountains meet the sea, a city of fish markets and temple bells, container ports and hot springs. Haeundae's wide beach fills with umbrellas in summer; Jagalchi Market hums with ajummas selling live octopus at dawn. Gamcheon's pastel houses cling to hillsides like a Korean Santorini, while Gwangalli's waterfront glows beneath the diamond-lit bridge at night. The air smells of grilled mackerel and salt, the subway connects beaches to Buddhist shrines in minutes, and the pace feels looser than Seoul—a place where the ocean shapes the rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

What's the best time to visit Busan?

Spring and autumn bring mild weather and clear skies—cherry blossoms frame the temples in April, while October offers warm days and cool evenings perfect for coastal walks. Summer draws beach crowds and humidity, but also festivals and night swimming at Haeundae. Winter stays relatively gentle compared to Seoul, though the sea wind bites. Locals say autumn is when Busan shows its best face: comfortable enough for hiking Geumjeongsan, pleasant enough for long afternoons watching fishing boats return to port.
