Home Exchange in Phu Quoc

No verified homes listed in Phu Quoc yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

The scent of night-blooming jasmine drifts through Phu Quoc's pepper plantations long after the fishing boats have motored back to harbour. Vietnam's largest island moves to a different clock than the mainland—slower tides, longer sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand, mornings that begin with pho at a beachside shack rather than a hotel buffet. Here, staying put means claiming a veranda where you can watch storms roll in from Cambodia, a kitchen stocked for grilling the day's catch at Duong Dong market, a neighbourhood where your landlord's aunt might insist you try her fish sauce straight from the barrel. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When is the best time to visit Phu Quoc?

November through March offers the driest skies and calmest seas—ideal for snorkelling and island-hopping. April and May grow hotter but stay mostly sunny, while the monsoon from June to October brings dramatic afternoon downpours and emptier beaches. The rainy season has its own charm: lower accommodation rates, lush jungle trails, and the kind of tropical storms that clear as quickly as they arrive. If you're chasing pepper harvest or quieter shores, September and October reward the gamble.
