Home Exchange in Gozo
No verified homes listed in Gozo yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Gozo moves at a different pace. Smaller and quieter than its sister island, it unfolds in terraced fields the colour of wheat, limestone villages that glow amber at sunset, and coves where the water runs impossibly clear. Farmers still sell honey and goat cheese from roadside stands. The scent of wild thyme drifts across clifftops. Victoria's citadel rises at the island's heart, while fishing boats bob in Xlendi and Marsalforn. This is Malta stripped back to essentials: stone, sea, and unhurried days.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
What's the best way to experience Gozo's quieter side?
Head inland to villages like Xagħra or Għarb, where daily life unfolds around parish squares and bakeries selling ftira bread. Spring brings wildflowers across the countryside, while autumn offers warm sea and fewer crowds. The western coast—around Dwejra and the cliffs near Ta' Ċenċ—feels most remote. Rent a small car or scooter; buses exist but run infrequently, and the island's scale rewards slow exploration between farmland, coast, and the occasional baroque chapel tucked into a hillside.
