Home Exchange in Brno
No verified homes listed in Brno yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Brno hums with a different frequency than Prague — quieter trams, longer café conversations, a skyline punctuated by Špilberk Castle rather than tourist crowds. This is Moravia's heart, where wine cellars outnumber souvenir shops and the rhythm belongs to students cycling past functionalist villas and families queuing at the Saturday farmers' market on Zelný trh. The architecture tells two stories at once: Gothic spires and baroque facades in the old centre, then the clean lines of Villa Tugendhat and other modernist landmarks that made Brno a laboratory for 20th-century design. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which neighbourhoods in Brno feel most authentically local?
Žabovřesky and Královo Pole pull you into residential Brno — tree-lined streets, corner hospodas, playgrounds where Czech is the only language you'll hear. Veveří runs along the river with a more bohemian edge, full of second-hand bookshops and wine bars. The centre around Zelný trh and náměstí Svobody is walkable and lively, but venture into Černá Pole or Pisárky for the everyday Brno of bakeries, parks, and neighbours who nod hello. Trams connect it all in under twenty minutes.
