Home Exchange in Corfu
No verified homes listed in Corfu yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Corfu hums with a different Greek rhythm — Venetian shutters painted ochre and rust, cricket songs in olive groves older than empires, the scent of kumquat liqueur drifting from kitchen windows. The island's layered history (Venetian arcades, French liston promenades, British ginger beer traditions) makes it feel less like a postcard and more like a lived-in secret. To stay here properly means morning coffee in Corfu Town's narrow kantounia alleys, afternoon swims at pebble coves only locals name, evenings where you cook with island greens bought from a truck with no sign. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which part of Corfu feels most authentic for travellers staying like locals?
Corfu Town's Old Town (a UNESCO site) offers Venetian charm and daily market life, but the island's north — villages like Perithia or Agios Markos — rewards those seeking mountain tavernas and fewer crowds. The west coast around Paleokastritsa blends dramatic coastline with working fishing harbours. Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) bring wildflowers, comfortable temperatures, and a slower pace after the summer rush. Most of the island is walkable by coastal path or reachable by scooter; buses connect towns, though schedules thin outside high season.
