Home Exchange in Manuel Antonio

No verified homes listed in Manuel Antonio yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Manuel Antonio clings to Costa Rica's Pacific edge where rainforest spills directly onto white sand. Howler monkeys wake you before dawn, sloths drape themselves over cecropia branches along the beach path, and by mid-morning the air smells of salt and ripe mango. The national park here is compact but dense—primary forest meets turquoise water in minutes. Outside the park gates, the town curves along a ridge: open-air sodas serving casado plates, yoga studios with ocean views, and quiet residential lanes where toucans argue in the canopy. It's a place that moves slowly on purpose, where the rhythm is set by tide charts and the afternoon rainstorm that arrives like clockwork.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When's the best time to visit Manuel Antonio?

Dry season runs December through April—sunny mornings, calm seas, easier wildlife spotting along the trails. May through November brings afternoon rains that clear quickly, fewer crowds, and lusher forest. The park itself closes Mondays year-round for ecosystem rest. Shoulder months like May and November offer a sweet spot: good weather, quieter beaches, and lower accommodation prices. Whenever you come, mornings are magic—animals are most active, the light is softer, and the trails haven't yet filled with day-trippers from the coast.
