Home Exchange in Bordeaux
No verified homes listed in Bordeaux yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Bordeaux moves to the rhythm of the tram bell and the slap of café chairs opening at nine. This is a city that takes its time—over wine, over lunch, over the light that turns the limestone façades gold before dinner. Beyond the postcard quays, neighbourhoods like Saint-Michel and Chartrons hum with market mornings and corner bakeries where you'll overhear more about tonight's apéro than tomorrow's meetings. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Bordeaux?
Late spring and early autumn bring warm days without the crush of high summer, perfect for cycling along the Garonne or catching the twice-weekly markets. September is especially lovely—harvest season in the surrounding vineyards, cooler evenings, and the city's cultural calendar in full swing. Winter is quieter and wetter, but oyster season and quieter museum halls have their own appeal for those who prefer Bordeaux at a slower tempo.
