Home Exchange in Casablanca
No verified homes listed in Casablanca yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Casablanca hums with a restless energy that feels entirely its own — part Atlantic port, part art deco dream, part sprawling modern metropolis. The medina spills into wide French-colonial boulevards where mint tea and espresso share the same sidewalk tables. Mornings smell of fresh khobz from corner bakeries, and evenings draw crowds to the Corniche, where the ocean crashes against the seawall and families stroll under string lights. The Hassan II Mosque rises from the waterfront like a geometric prayer, half the city reflected in its courtyard marble. This is Morocco's economic heart, less polished than Marrakech, more lived-in — a city of business suits and djellabas, cranes and call to prayer, where the working rhythm of North Africa meets the sea.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which neighbourhoods capture Casablanca's character best?
The old medina near the port feels dense and authentic, though smaller than others in Morocco. Maarif and Gauthier hold the best art deco architecture — think pastel facades, wrought-iron balconies, and tiled lobbies from the 1930s. The Corniche stretches along the coast with beach clubs and seafood grills, lively on weekends. Anfa and Californie skew residential and quieter, with tree-lined streets. For the truest sense of daily Casablancan life, wander Derb Sultan or Hay Mohammadi — working-class quarters where the city's real pulse lives, far from the postcards.
