Home Exchange in Marrakech

No verified homes listed in Marrakech yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Marrakech hums with a particular energy — the call to prayer drifting over terracotta rooftops, the scent of mint tea and grilled lamb threading through narrow souks, the sudden cool of a riad courtyard after the midday heat. Beyond the medina's labyrinth, the Palmeraie stretches green and quiet, while the Atlas Mountains rise snow-capped on clear mornings. Evenings belong to Jemaa el-Fna, where storytellers and spice vendors claim their corners as the light turns amber. This is a city that rewards slow mornings and late nights, where every neighbourhood — from the rose-hued Gueliz to the artisan quarters of Bab Doukkala — holds its own rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When's the best time to visit Marrakech?

Spring and autumn offer the gentlest weather — warm days, cool evenings, and the city's gardens in full bloom. Summers blaze hot, especially in July and August, though nights cool down beautifully. Winter brings crisp mornings and the occasional chill after dark, but it's rarely cold by European standards. If you're planning day trips to the Atlas, late spring gives you green valleys and waterfalls still fed by snowmelt. Ramadan shifts annually and brings a quieter, more introspective city during daylight hours, with vibrant evening markets once the fast breaks.
