Home Exchange in Savannah

No verified homes listed in Savannah yet β€” the first hosts get priority placement.

Savannah moves at its own pace, where Spanish moss drapes over oak-lined squares and the air carries salt from the nearby coast. The Historic District unfolds in a grid of garden squares, each with its own character β€” some shaded and quiet, others humming with cafΓ© tables. Mornings smell like sweet tea and biscuits, evenings glow with gas lamps along cobblestone streets. Beyond the postcard facades, you'll find working neighbourhoods, art studios in converted warehouses, and marshlands that stretch toward Tybee Island. It's a city that rewards slow wandering.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network β€” always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews β€” reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes β€” you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

What's the best time to experience Savannah?

Spring and fall offer the most comfortable weather β€” March through May brings azaleas and dogwoods into bloom, while October and November deliver mild days without the summer humidity. Summers are hot and thick, but quieter if you don't mind the heat. Winter stays gentle, rarely dipping below freezing, making it pleasant for walking the squares when the city feels more like a local secret than a postcard.
