Home Exchange in Inari

No verified homes listed in Inari yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

The crunch of snow underfoot carries differently here, in air so cold it feels sharp in your lungs. Inari sits deep in Finnish Lapland, where the sun vanishes for weeks in winter and refuses to set in summer, and where the rhythms of reindeer herding and Sámi culture shape the calendar more than any office hours. This is a place where the northern lights ripple green over frozen lakes, where you might share a sauna with locals who've just pulled nets through ice, and where the silence itself feels like a presence. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When's the best time to visit Inari?

Winter, from December to March, brings the polar night, northern lights, and snow activities like husky sledding and ice fishing. Summer, especially June and July, offers the midnight sun and hiking under endless daylight. Autumn's brief September window delivers fall colours across the fells and fewer crowds. Spring can feel raw and muddy as the thaw begins. Most travellers come for the aurora or the midnight sun, but each season reveals a different face of the Arctic.
