Home Exchange in Poznan

No verified homes listed in Poznan yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

The first warm Saturday in Poznań means the Old Market Square fills with the smell of grilled oscypek and the clatter of café chairs dragged into the sun. Poland's oldest trading city moves to a rhythm shaped by centuries of merchants and students — early-morning bakeries in Jeżyce, late-night pierogi on Święty Marcin, Sunday walks along the Warta. Staying in a local home here means waking to the chime of the Town Hall goats at noon, shopping where babcias queue for fresh sernik, and understanding why Poznańians call their city the place where Poland learns to work and Warsaw learns to spend. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which neighbourhoods in Poznań feel most local?

Jeżyce pulses with students, vintage shops, and corner bakeries that open before dawn. Łazarz mixes pre-war townhouses with new wine bars and the sprawling Łazarz market. Śródka, across the river, offers cobbled lanes and the cathedral island without the tourist crush. The Old Market Square is beautiful but polished for visitors — the everyday city lives a tram ride away, in neighbourhoods where you'll hear more Polish than English and find the pierogi spots locals actually recommend.
