Home Exchange in Granada

No verified homes listed in Granada yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Granada announces itself in layers: the call to prayer drifting from the Albayzín, the scent of jasmine climbing whitewashed walls, the crunch of snow visible on Sierra Nevada peaks from a sun-warmed terrace. This is a city that refuses the either-or of Spanish tourism — Moorish and Catholic, mountain and Mediterranean, university town and UNESCO monument. To stay here properly means morning coffee in a neighbourhood bar where the tostada comes free with your order, afternoon siestas behind shutters that stripe the light, evenings when tapas arrive unbidden with each drink. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which neighbourhoods in Granada feel most local?

The Albayzín and Realejo offer the deepest texture — narrow cobbled streets, century-old carmen houses with hidden gardens, and bars where locals outnumber visitors. Albayzín climbs the hillside opposite the Alhambra with North African echoes in its layout; Realejo, the old Jewish quarter, sits lower and quieter, its plazas shaded by orange trees. Both reward slow wandering and keep their own hours, especially in summer when life moves outdoors after dark.
