Home Exchange in Adelaide
No verified homes listed in Adelaide yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Adelaide moves to the rhythm of festivals and farmers' markets, where Saturday mornings smell of sourdough and stone fruit from the Adelaide Hills. This is a city that sprawls comfortably between gulf beaches and vine-covered ranges, where locals slip away to McLaren Vale for lunch or Glenelg for a swim without ceremony. The pace here rewards the unhurried—long dinners in laneway bistros, mornings at the Central Market, evenings when the light turns the parklands gold. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which neighbourhoods in Adelaide feel most local?
The inner suburbs have the most texture. Norwood hums with cafés and heritage shopfronts; Prospect feels village-like with its bakeries and weekend buzz. Closer to the city, North Adelaide's wide streets and stone cottages sit near the Botanic Garden. For coast-minded travellers, Glenelg and Henley Beach offer that salt-air ease. Most neighbourhoods sit within a twenty-minute tram or bike ride from the centre, and locals tend to move fluidly between the hills, the city grid, and the gulf depending on the season.
