Home Exchange in Brisbane
No verified homes listed in Brisbane yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Brisbane hums with the particular energy of a subtropical capital that never quite lost its river-town ease. Jacarandas drop purple confetti on West End footpaths in spring, and the smell of frangipani drifts through Paddington's weatherboard verandahs on warm evenings. This is a city of outdoor kitchens and year-round mornings that start with coffee on the deck, where the rhythm tilts toward the weekend farmer's market, the ferry to South Bank, the afternoon storm that clears by sunset. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which Brisbane neighbourhoods feel most local?
West End brings terrace houses, vintage shops, and a strong cafe culture along Boundary Street. Paddington climbs the hill with Queenslanders on stilts and leafy streets perfect for wandering. New Farm hugs the river bend with parks and brunch spots, while Fortitude Valley pulses with music venues and late-night dim sum. Each has its own cadence, but all share that subtropical ease — wide verandahs, outdoor living, and a short ferry or bike ride to the city centre.
