Home Exchange in Sydney
No verified homes listed in Sydney yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Sydney mornings start with the smell of flat whites and salt air, the harbour catching first light on a hundred small bays. This is a city that lives outdoors—weekends mean ferry rides to hidden beaches, markets under Moreton Bay figs, and long lunches that blur into sundowners on rooftop terraces. The rhythm here resists hurry: you swim before work, you walk barefoot more than you expect, you learn that 'close to the water' isn't a luxury but a way of orienting daily life. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which Sydney neighbourhoods feel most local?
Newtown and Enmore pulse with live music and Vietnamese bakeries. Glebe offers leafy streets and weekend book markets. Manly and Coogee give you ocean pools and coastal walks without the Bondi crowds. Inner West suburbs like Marrickville mix warehouse galleries with family-run Lebanese grocers. For harbour views and village quiet, Balmain and Birchgrove reward the ferry commute. Each pocket has its own cadence—Sydney's scale means you choose your tempo.
