Seasonal Travel Home Exchange in Brazil
Every season opens up different parts of the country.
No listings matched yet in Brazil — be the first host
Brazil's dramatic seasonal shifts open entirely different worlds for the traveller who times it right. Chase the southern winter (June–August) for crisp mountain air in Serra Gaúcha or whale-watching off Santa Catarina, then return during the northern summer for Amazonian river cruises when water levels peak. The Northeast shines brightest during the dry season—endless beach days in Bahia, festival season in Pernambuco—while the Pantanal transforms completely between wet and dry months, each offering distinct wildlife spectacles. Carnival, June festivals, and harvest seasons create cultural peaks worth planning around, and shoulder months deliver emptier beaches and better-priced everything.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When should I visit Brazil to avoid crowds but still get good weather?
April–May and August–November are Brazil's sweet spots. You'll miss Carnival chaos and school holiday peaks, but catch excellent weather in most regions. The Northeast stays warm and dry through November, while the South enjoys mild autumn colours in May. Pantanal wildlife viewing is spectacular in the September–October dry season without the July tourist rush. Beach towns along the coast are blissfully quiet in April, with warm ocean temperatures and little rain. These shoulder windows also align with local harvest festivals and regional celebrations that feel more authentic than high-season spectacles.
