Home Exchange in Antwerp
No verified homes listed in Antwerp yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Antwerp hums with the clatter of cargo cranes and the quiet rustle of atelier curtains — a port city that's never stopped making things. Diamonds get cut in narrow Hoveniersstraat workshops, fashion students sketch in cafés near the MoMu, and century-old breweries still bottle De Koninck by the Scheldt. Staying in a local home here means waking to the smell of fresh speculoos from a bakery around the corner, not a hotel breakfast buffet, and spending evenings in neighbourhoods like 't Zuid or Het Eilandje where the rhythm is less tourist trail, more aperitief at dusk. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which neighbourhoods in Antwerp feel most local?
't Zuid draws art lovers and Sunday market wanderers, with its wide boulevards and pre-war townhouses. Het Eilandje, the old docklands turned creative quarter, offers converted warehouses and waterfront walks. Zurenborg charms with its Belle Époque facades and quiet squares, while the Oude Stad around Grote Markt keeps you close to guild houses and the cathedral. Each has its own cadence — some cobblestoned and historic, others industrial-chic and evolving.
