Home Exchange in Agra

No verified homes listed in Agra yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Agra wakes to the soft call of peacocks and the scent of parathas sizzling in ghee. Beyond the marble monument that draws the world, the city hums with leather workshops in Sadar Bazaar, the tang of petha sweetmeats wrapped in silver foil, and the Yamuna's quiet bend at sunset. Neighbourhoods like Taj Ganj and Fatehabad Road hold Mughal echoes—red sandstone gateways, gardens where emperors once strolled. Evenings smell of cardamom chai and grilled kebabs, and the light here, especially October through March, turns everything amber and forgiving.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When is the best time to visit Agra?

October through March brings cooler, clearer days—ideal for wandering fort ramparts and garden tombs without the furnace heat of summer. Winter mornings can be misty, lending an ethereal quality to sunrise views. Monsoon arrives in July, softening the dust and greening the riverbanks, though humidity climbs. Spring festivals like Holi add bursts of colour to the streets, but by April the temperature begins its steep ascent.
