Home Exchange in Bangalore
No verified homes listed in Bangalore yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Bangalore hums with a particular energy — tech parks give way to canopied avenues lined with rain trees, and the scent of filter coffee drifts from old Brahmin bakeries near Basavanagudi. Evenings cool down quickly here, a thousand metres above sea level, and locals spill into streetside chaat stalls or the green lungs of Cubbon Park. The city's grown fast, but pockets like Malleswaram still move to older rhythms: morning vegetable carts, temple bells, the rustle of Kannada newspapers. It's a place where you might code all day, then queue for dosas under fairy lights at night.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which neighbourhoods give the most authentic feel of Bangalore?
Malleswaram and Basavanagudi hold onto the city's older character — tree-lined streets, South Indian breakfast institutions, and a slower pace. Indiranagar and Koramangala pulse with younger energy: indie bookshops, microbreweries, late-night eateries. For greenery and colonial echoes, stay near Cubbon Park or the Cantonment area. Each pocket has its own cadence, but all share Bangalore's trademark: evenings that ask for a light jacket, even in summer.
