Home Exchange in Wroclaw

No verified homes listed in Wroclaw yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Wroclaw hums with a particular energy — part student city, part medieval crossroads, wholly its own. The Odra River splits into channels that carve the Old Town into islands connected by more than a hundred bridges, each with its own cast of bronze gnomes tucked into doorways and lamp posts. Mornings smell of fresh obwarzanek from corner bakeries; evenings belong to the Rynek's amber-lit cafés and the rattle of trams heading toward Nadodrze, where pre-war tenements now hold galleries and wine bars. It's a city that rewards slow walks and second glances.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which neighbourhoods in Wroclaw feel most local?

Nadodrze has shed its rough edges to become the creative heart — street art, independent shops, and bars in converted courtyards. Across the river, Biskupin and Sępolno offer tree-lined streets and a quieter, residential rhythm. For something grittier and more lived-in, try Przedmieście Oławskie, where you'll find Vietnamese markets and family-run pierogi spots. The islands of Ostrów Tumski feel like a different century entirely: cobblestones, Gothic spires, and gas lamps still lit by hand each evening.
