Home Exchange in Koh Samui
No verified homes listed in Koh Samui yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Koh Samui wraps itself around you like warm air off the Gulf of Thailand — part jungle hum, part coconut grove, part fishing village that learned to slow-dance with the world. Mornings taste like mango sticky rice from a roadside cart, afternoons disappear into turquoise coves where longtail boats bob like painted toys. Inland, waterfalls thread through rainforest; along the coast, Buddhist temples catch the light in gold leaf and crimson lacquer. The island moves to its own clock: slower than Bangkok, livelier than the mainland's rural heart, somewhere between a secret and a postcard.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Koh Samui?
Koh Samui flips Thailand's usual monsoon script — it stays driest from late December through August, making it a refuge when the Andaman coast drowns in rain. February to April bring the hottest, stillest days; January and August feel breezier. September and October turn wet and moody, though storms tend to roll through in bursts rather than settling in for weeks. If you're chasing quiet beaches and lower prices, the shoulder months of May or November split the difference between sun and solitude.
