Home Exchange in Krabi

No verified homes listed in Krabi yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Krabi unfolds along the Andaman coast in a tangle of limestone karsts, mangrove estuaries, and turquoise shallows. Mornings smell of grilled satay and sweet Thai basil from shophouse kitchens in Krabi Town; afternoons belong to long-tail boats puttering toward Railay's chalk cliffs or the lagoons of Hong Island. Inland, the jungle hums with cicadas and the occasional call of hornbills. This is southern Thailand at its most dramatic—less polished than Phuket, more lived-in than the postcards suggest. Stay awhile and you'll fall into the rhythm: strong coffee at dawn, a swim before lunch, pad krapow for dinner as the sky turns tangerine.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When's the best time to visit Krabi?

November through March brings dry skies and calm seas—ideal for island-hopping and rock climbing at Railay. April and May turn hot and still, but the beaches empty out. The monsoon arrives in June and lingers until October; rain comes in bursts, usually afternoons, and the landscape glows emerald. If you don't mind occasional showers, the green season offers cheaper stays and fewer crowds. Just avoid September and October when storms can be persistent.
