Home Exchange in Delhi

No verified homes listed in Delhi yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Delhi announces itself before you see it: the crackle of parathas on a roadside tawa at dawn, the call to prayer drifting over Mughal domes, the honk-and-weave of auto-rickshaws threading through roundabouts built by empires. This is a city that refuses single narratives—old Delhi's spice-scented lanes give way to Lutyens' wide avenues, which dissolve into Gurgaon's glass towers. To stay here like a local means breakfast from the halwai around the corner, evening chai on a terrace as kites tilt above Humayun's Tomb, and the rhythm of a place where history isn't preserved behind glass but lived in daily. The homes below open the door to that layered everyday.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When's the best time to visit Delhi?

October through March brings the most forgiving weather—cool mornings, warm afternoons, and evenings mild enough for rooftop dinners and long walks through Lodhi Garden. Winter fog can shroud January mornings in a brief, atmospheric chill. April and May turn scorching, though locals escape to hill stations or retreat indoors during the midday blaze. Monsoon arrives in July, sticky and unpredictable, but it greens the city and empties the tourist sites. If you want Delhi at its most liveable and social, aim for the post-Diwali stretch into early spring.
