Home Exchange in Corfu

No verified homes listed in Corfu yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Corfu feels different from the rest of Greece — greener, more Venetian, with olive groves so thick they blur into silver-green hills. The old town's narrow kantounia alleyways open onto sudden squares where locals argue over coffee, and the scent of kumquat liqueur drifts from doorways. Beaches range from pebbly coves on the northeast to long sandy stretches facing Albania. Spring brings wildflowers and fewer crowds; summer means tavernas stay open past midnight, and you'll hear crickets louder than the sea.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which part of Corfu should I stay in?

Corfu Town offers Venetian architecture, museums, and walkable charm — perfect if you want culture and cafés within reach. The northeast coast around Kassiopi and Kalami has quiet coves and family-run tavernas. The west gets dramatic sunsets and longer beaches, though roads twist more. Avoid the strip developments south of the airport unless you're after package-resort ease. Spring and early autumn bring the island's best light and emptier trails.
