Home Exchange in Milos
No verified homes listed in Milos yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Milos feels like the Cyclades before the crowds found them. Volcanic cliffs drop into turquoise coves you can only reach by boat or dusty footpath, and the island's mining past has left behind a palette of rust, white, and ochre that glows at sunset. Fishing villages like Klima still have their syrmata—brightly painted boat garages carved into rock—and the capital, Plaka, spills down a hillside in a tangle of bougainvillea and narrow stairs. Evenings smell of grilled octopus and oregano, and the pace is slow enough that you'll notice the sound of waves from almost anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Milos?
Late May through early October brings warm swimming weather, though July and August see the most visitors. Shoulder season—especially June and September—offers calmer beaches, easier taverna reservations, and gentler light for exploring the island's dramatic coastline. Spring wildflowers blanket the hills, and autumn water stays warm well into October. Winters are quiet; many businesses close, but the island takes on a local rhythm if you're after solitude and don't mind cooler seas.
