Home Exchange in Palma de Mallorca
No verified homes listed in Palma de Mallorca yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Palma feels like two cities at once: the medieval labyrinth of honey-stone alleyways around the cathedral, and the sun-bleached promenades where locals take evening paseos along the bay. Beyond the Gothic arches and wrought-iron balconies of the old quarter, neighbourhoods like Santa Catalina hum with market stalls selling sobrassada and ensaïmadas, while El Terreno clings to hillsides dotted with Art Nouveau mansions. The light here is sharp and warm, bouncing off limestone façades and the turquoise shock of the Mediterranean. It's a place where you can hear church bells in the morning and the clink of vermouth glasses by noon.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to experience Palma like a local?
Late spring and early autumn bring warm days without the summer crush, when beaches feel spacious and restaurant terraces aren't fully booked. Locals favour September and October—the sea stays warm, almond trees begin their cycle, and the city exhales after the peak season. Winter is mild and quiet, ideal for exploring the Serra de Tramuntana foothills or wandering Palma's galleries and cafés without the crowds. July and August are vibrant but intense, with the island at full tilt.
