Home Exchange in Mendoza
No verified homes listed in Mendoza yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Mendoza announces itself in the rustle of poplar leaves along acequias—irrigation channels older than the city's grid—and the scent of malbec fermenting in concrete eggs behind century-old bodegas. This is Argentina's wine capital, yes, but also a place where the Andes loom so close you can bike to their foothills for lunch, where Sunday asado smoke drifts over jasmine-heavy plazas, and where locals speak of terroir the way others speak of weather. The rhythm here is slow pours and long siestas, punctuated by the sudden drama of a zonda wind sweeping down from the peaks. The homes below open the door to that rhythm—patios shaded by parral vines, kitchens stocked with olive oil from Maipú, views that end in snowmelt.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When's the best time to visit Mendoza?
March through May delivers the magic: harvest season, when the vineyards blaze copper and gold, temperatures hover in the mid-20s, and bodegas open their doors for vendimia festivals. Spring (September to November) is gentler—blossoms everywhere, fewer crowds, ideal for cycling the wine routes. Summer (December to February) brings fierce heat but also open-air concerts and the energy of high season. Winter is for skiers heading to Las Leñas or those who love stark mountain light and empty tasting rooms.
