Home Exchange in Quebec City
No verified homes listed in Quebec City yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
The creak of shutters on a stone house in winter. The smell of tourtière drifting from a kitchen window in Vieux-Québec. Quebec City moves to a rhythm shaped by centuries, not seasons — though February's Carnaval and October's leaf-turn do punctuate the year with their own drama. This is a place where staying in a neighbourhood means morning croissants from a boulangerie on rue Saint-Jean, evenings watching the ferry lights cross the St. Lawrence, and understanding why locals never tire of the fortified silhouette against the sky. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which neighbourhoods in Quebec City feel most lived-in?
Saint-Roch hums with cafés and design studios in converted factories — it's where young families and artists have settled. Saint-Jean-Baptiste, just outside the old walls, offers tree-lined streets, corner dépanneurs, and a village feel five minutes from the tourist core. Limoilou, across the Saint-Charles River, is historically working-class and increasingly creative, with Vietnamese pho joints and microbreweries. Old Quebec is magical but mostly hotels and restaurants; the neighbourhoods around it are where daily life happens.
