Home Exchange in Vancouver
No verified homes listed in Vancouver yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
The seawall hum of cyclists at dusk, the smell of rain on cedar, the mountains that wall the city against the rest of the continent — Vancouver lives at the edge of things. It's a place where you eat dim sum for breakfast and hike a rainforest by lunch, where neighbourhoods shift from glass towers to Craftsman porches in a single block. Staying here means learning the rhythm of farmers' markets in Kitsilano, the coffee culture of Commercial Drive, the way locals dress in layers even in July. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which Vancouver neighbourhoods feel most local?
Kitsilano and Point Grey draw families and beach-goers. Commercial Drive pulses with Italian bakeries and counter-culture cafés. Main Street skews younger, full of vintage shops and microbreweries. The West End wraps around Stanley Park with a dense, walkable mix of high-rises and quiet streets. Across the water, North Vancouver trades urban grit for forest trails and mountain access. Each pocket has its own cadence — pick based on whether you want the seawall, the SkyTrain, or the trailhead closest.
