Home Exchange in Cannes
No verified homes listed in Cannes yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
The scent of pine resin drifts down from the hills above Cannes while espresso machines hiss in the narrow streets of Le Suquet, the old quarter where laundry still hangs between shuttered townhouses. Beyond the red-carpet mythology, this is a working Riviera town: fishmongers open at dawn on Forville market, retirees play pétanque under plane trees, and the best beaches lie west toward La Bocca, away from the palace hotels. Staying in a local home means morning bread runs to your neighbourhood boulangerie, evenings on a terrace with that particular slant of southern light, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing which bakery makes the socca worth queuing for. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
When does Cannes feel most like itself?
May and October frame the quieter soul of the city — warm enough for swimming, but without the festival crowds or August price surge. Spring brings mimosa blooms cascading down the Estérel hills; autumn delivers still-warm seawater and the grape harvest in nearby Provence. Winter has its own charm: crisp blue skies, empty beaches, and the chance to see how locals actually live when the curtain drops. Le Suquet's stone steps and the morning market at Forville belong to residents year-round, but you'll have them nearly to yourself outside high summer.
