Spacious homes, full kitchens, and kid-friendly neighbourhoods.
No listings matched yet in Cyprus — be the first host
Families craving sun-soaked adventure without the frenetic pace of busier Mediterranean hotspots often find Cyprus hits the sweet spot. The island's compact size means beach mornings and mountain afternoons are genuinely feasible in a single day, while tavernas welcome children with genuine warmth and menus that extend beyond chips. Coastal towns like Paphos and Limassol offer shallow, calm bays perfect for tentative swimmers, and the Troodos villages provide cool-altitude retreats when August heat peaks. With a rhythm that accommodates afternoon rest and evening strolls, Cyprus invites families to settle in rather than rush through.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which parts of Cyprus are most practical for families with young children?
Paphos and Limassol stand out for their gentle beaches, promenades with playgrounds, and family-run tavernas where high chairs appear without asking. Protaras on the east coast offers shallow Fig Tree Bay, ideal for toddlers. Avoid Ayia Napa's party-centric strip unless your kids are teens. For cooler escapes, the Troodos mountain villages provide pine shade, short nature trails, and a slower pace. Most coastal areas have pharmacies and private clinics within easy reach, and locals genuinely dote on children.
