Home Exchange in Mendoza

No verified homes listed in Mendoza yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Mendoza sits at the foot of the Andes, where vineyards stretch toward snow-capped peaks and the air smells faintly of irrigation canals and dust. The city itself is green and low-slung, rebuilt after an earthquake with wide plazas shaded by plane trees. Evenings here mean long dinners — empanadas, malbec, grilled meat — often outdoors under the stars. Beyond the bodegas, you'll find mountain villages, hot springs, and the kind of light that makes everything look like it's been dipped in honey.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

When's the best time to visit Mendoza?

March through May brings harvest season, when the vineyards glow amber and wineries host festivals. Spring (September to November) is equally lovely, with mild days and blooming jacarandas. Summer can be scorching, but it's perfect if you're heading into the mountains. Winter (June to August) draws skiers to the Andes, though the city itself stays sunny and dry. Avoid January if you dislike intense heat — locals flee to the hills.
