Home Exchange in Phu Quoc

No verified homes listed in Phu Quoc yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Phu Quoc drifts off Vietnam's southern coast like a secret kept too long. Pepper plantations sprawl across the interior, their vines climbing wooden frames under a canopy of green. The island's beaches stretch long and pale, backed by casuarina trees that whisper in the salt breeze. Fishing villages still wake before dawn, their wooden boats painted in faded blues and reds. Night markets fill with grilled seafood—squid, prawns, whole fish charred over coconut husks—and the air smells of fish sauce and lemongrass. Beyond the resorts, dirt roads lead to quiet coves where the Gulf of Thailand laps against volcanic rock.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

What's the best time to visit Phu Quoc?

The dry season runs from November through March, when skies stay clear and the sea calms to glass. This is peak time for swimming and island-hopping. April and May grow hotter but remain mostly dry. The southwest monsoon arrives in June and lingers until October, bringing afternoon downpours and rougher waters—though mornings often break sunny, and the island turns lush and empty. If you prefer solitude over guaranteed beach days, the shoulder months of late May or early November offer a gentler balance.
