Home Exchange in Dublin
No verified homes listed in Dublin yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Dublin mornings smell like rain on Georgian brick and malt from the Guinness brewery drifting across the Liffey. This is a city that lives in its pubs and parks, where strangers strike up conversations over pints in Temple Bar and families picnic in Phoenix Park under skies that shift from grey to gold in an hour. Staying in a local home means waking to the clatter of the DART, walking to a bakery in Stoneybatter for brown bread still warm, and understanding why Dubliners never rush—there's always time for one more story. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
Which Dublin neighbourhoods feel most local?
Stoneybatter and Drumcondra hum with independent cafés and corner pubs where regulars know each other's names. Portobello and Rathmines draw students and young families, their streets lined with Victorian redbrick and weekend markets. Howth and Dún Laoghaire sit by the sea, offering cliff walks and fish-and-chip shops with harbour views. The city centre pulses with tourists, but step into Smithfield or the Liberties and you'll find Dublin as Dubliners live it—unhurried, conversational, never far from a good pub.
