Home Exchange in Cali
No verified homes listed in Cali yet — the first hosts get priority placement.
Cali moves to its own rhythm, a city where salsa spills from open doorways and the scent of lulada — crushed lulo fruit with lime and ice — cools the tropical afternoons. Wedged between the Andes and the Pacific lowlands, it pulses with an energy that's equal parts working-class grit and irrepressible joy. Neighborhoods like San Antonio climb cobbled hills lined with colonial facades and café tables, while the river cuts through the valley below. Here, dancing isn't a weekend pastime; it's a language, a birthright, the thing that makes the heat bearable and the nights endless.

Frequently asked questions
How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?
You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.
Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?
Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.
Do I need to swap directly with the same person?
No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.
Can I join if I don't own a home?
Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.
What's the best time to visit Cali?
Cali's warm year-round, but December brings the Feria de Cali — a week-long explosion of salsa concerts, parades, and street parties that transforms the city. If you prefer quieter exploration, visit between January and March or July and August, when the weather stays dry and you'll have the salsa schools and riverside parks mostly to locals. The city sits at a lower altitude than Bogotá, so expect consistent heat and the occasional afternoon downpour that clears as quickly as it arrives.
