Home Exchange in Nazca

No verified homes listed in Nazca yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Nazca sits in Peru's coastal desert, a town wrapped in ancient mystery and rust-coloured plains that stretch toward distant mountains. The air is dry and clear, the kind that makes stars feel close at night. Beyond the famous lines etched into the plateau centuries ago, life here moves to a quieter rhythm—small plazas shaded by pepper trees, family-run restaurants serving seco de cabrito, and markets where vendors sell pottery inspired by pre-Columbian designs. Mornings arrive cool before the sun climbs high and unrelenting. It's a place that rewards slow observation, where the landscape itself feels like a canvas left by hands long gone.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 10 free credits, so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All messages run through our encrypted chat. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

What's the best way to experience Nazca beyond the famous lines?

Wander the town's modest archaeological museum to see Nazca ceramics and textiles up close, their geometric patterns echoing the desert geoglyphs. Visit the ancient aqueducts at Cantalloc, still channeling water through stone spirals built over a thousand years ago. Drive out to the Chauchilla Cemetery, where mummies and woven textiles lie exposed under open sky. Eat at local picanterías—ask for chicharrón or a cold glass of chicha morada. The desert here isn't empty; it's layered with history you can touch, taste, and walk through at your own pace.
