Home Exchange in Miami

No verified homes listed in Miami yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Miami moves to two clocks: the cafecito pulse of Little Havana at sunrise, and the salt-slow drift of Coconut Grove by afternoon. It's a city built on layers—Art Deco pastels over Tequesta shell mounds, Creole patois woven through Wynwood murals, ceviche carts parked where the bay meets the skyline. Hotels keep you at arm's length from all of it. A local kitchen, a building where neighbors argue in three languages, a balcony that catches the 4 p.m. thunderstorm—that's where Miami stops performing and starts breathing. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which Miami neighbourhoods feel most local?

Little Havana pulses with Cuban bakeries and domino games under mango trees. Coconut Grove offers bohemian calm and sailboat-dotted marinas. Wynwood's murals give way to Venezuelan areperas and craft breweries. For quieter, Old Florida charm, head to Coral Gables' banyan-lined streets or the bayside villages of Morningside. South Beach is iconic but tourist-heavy—most locals live where the Art Deco ends and the mangroves begin.
