Home Exchange in Denver

No verified homes listed in Denver yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Denver mornings arrive thin and bright — a mile above sea level, the light hits different, sharper on the brick facades of LoDo and the cottonwoods lining Washington Park. This is a city that lives outdoors even in winter, where happy hour means a brewery patio with mountain views and weekends disappear into trail systems that start at the city's edge. The pace here splits the difference between West Coast ease and Midwestern earnestness: early coffee, long hikes, dinner at eight. The homes below open the door to that rhythm — porches for sunrise coffee, kitchens stocked for post-hike breakfasts, neighbourhoods where you'll bike to the farmers market on Sunday.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which Denver neighbourhoods feel most local?

RiNo (River North) pulses with murals, breweries, and weekend markets — gritty-creative, still evolving. The Highlands (LoHi especially) skew polished but walkable, with tree-lined blocks and mountain-view rooftops. Washington Park and Platt Park draw families and runners; their bungalow streets feel residential and leafy. Capitol Hill offers density, dive bars, and vintage shops. South Broadway (SoBo) keeps it eclectic and affordable. Most locals will tell you the best neighbourhood is the one closest to your favorite trail.
